Tommy Fitzpatrick

Born in Dallas in 1969, Tommy Fitzpatrick received his BA in Fine Art from the University of Texas in Austin in 1991, and an MFA from Yale University School of Art in 1993. He is Professor of Painting at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Fitzpatrick currently lives and works in San Antonio, Texas. 

 

Fitzpatrick has exhibited nationally and internationally including solo and group exhibitions at the Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas; Arlington Museum of Art, Arlington, Texas, and Dallas Museum of Art. Fitzpatrick has participated in several art fairs including Art Basel Miami Beach, The Armory Show (New York), Art Chicago, and Art Cologne. He has won numerous awards including the Winsor Newton Oil Bar Limited Prize from Yale University School of Art, given in recognition of outstanding work in painting and printmaking.

 

Fitzpatrick’s paintings are in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas; Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas; Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas; and The Menil Collection in Houston, Texas.
